Standard Baggage AllowanceRestrictions apply to baggage on all airlines. If you have baggage that is in excess of the free allowance, you will be liable for charges.
Any baggage exceeding 50 lbs in weight or 8 ft/96 in/244 cm cannot be accepted as checked baggage. These items will need to be shipped as cargo and arrangements must be made in advance. For the comfort and safety of all passengers it is necessary to limit the size and weight of your carry-on baggage. Your free checked and carry-on baggage allowances on Inter Island Airways operated flights are detailed below. Be sure to label baggage inside and out, and with your name, address and contact number for your destination. Labels can be obtained from Inter Island Airways, your local travel agent or at check-in. Special Baggage PolicyThe following policy applies to special items that may not conform to the maximum permitted size/dimensions:

Carry-on ItemsInter Island Airways operates both the Dornier 228 and Dornier 328 aircraft. No "Carry On" bags are permitted on the Dornier 228, however each Passenger may bring a "Personal Item" in the cabin meeting the Max Size and Weight restrictions. Standard Size Carry On Bags will be gate checked as a valet bag for Dornier 328 Flights. The baggage will be collected prior to boarding and made available for pickup plane side on debarkation.
For all other flights, in addition to the one (1) Personal item, each Passenger is permitted one (1) Carry On meeting the Max Size and Weight restrictions. In addition to the one (1) Personal Item and one (1) Carry On (when permitted), each passenger may carry, within reason: a coat, an umbrella, reading material, food for immediate consumption, infant restraining device or passenger assist/comfort animals and devices. All Carry On baggage must be retained in the passenger's custody and stored under a seat or in an overhead compartment approved for the carriage of such baggage. Carry On baggage which remains in the custody of the passenger is the sole responsibility of the passenger. Inter Island Airways will not accept claims for lost, forgotten, or stolen Carry On baggage. Acceptance of Carry On baggage is subject to space availability on the aircraft at the time the passenger boards. If adequate space is not available, Inter Island Airways may require that the baggage be checked. Carry-on BaggageIn compliance with Civil Aviation Safety Authority Regulations, it is necessary to limit the size; weight and number of each customers carry-on baggage.

(Additionally, assistive devices such as walking sticks, canes or crutches are also permitted to be carried, provided they can be safely stored onboard). |

The total outside measurement of each checked item must not exceed eighty (80) inches. The Maximum total number of checked items is two (2). For Advanced Purchase of more than two (2) Baggage allowance may be restricted due to lack of space on certain Inter Island Airways' aircraft. If your baggage doesn’t arrive on-time or in the condition in which it was delivered, it is important you report your lost, missing or damaged property to Inter Island Airways before you leave the airport.
