Located on the island of Upolu in Independent Samoa, Apia is a bustling city and largest in the Samoan islands. From Faleolo Airport located on the western tip of Upolu, it’s a 45 minute bus or taxi ride into town. From Faleolo Airport, you can also take a short ferry boat just a few minutes from the airport to the big island of Savai’i, where Samoan tradition continues today. See Savai’i and it’s volcanic blow holes. Visit the most western part of Samoa and the tipping point where time and day comes to an end—at the International Dateline. |

Islands to see: Tutuila and Aunu’u |

Located on the island of Tutuila, the general city of Pago Pago and downtown areas of Fagatogo and Utulei are bustling areas of commerce. As a result of thousands of years of volcanic crater erosion, the southern crust the Tutuila island crater eventual fell way to the Pacific Ocean forming what we know today as the majestic Pago Pago harbor. Take a drive to the eastern side of Tutuila to see Aunu’u island—a boat trip away. Visit Pola Island and the US National park on the north shore of of Tutuila island. |

Where Samoans began and Polynesia grew—as legend is foretold, the island of Ta’u is where the ancient ruler Tu’i Manu'a resided to oversee the population of Polynesians onwards to the Marquises, Rorotonga, Tahiti and eventually Hawaii. Visit the ancient village of Tau where the last Tu'i Manu'a resided before seceding these Manu’a islands to the United States in 1904. |
